- To bring the SDEC areas into alignment with ED in terms of tracking real time information including patient journey through SDEC and capacity management etc.
- Streamlining transfer of patients, enabling sooner treatment, and reducing further complications.
- Provide Emergency Department/others access to Realtime information rather than them having to locate paper notes.
Medicine cabinets
Over a two-year period 11 Omnicell electronic medicine cabinets were installed within CHFT departments including A&E, maternity, pharmacy and ICU. The benefits of storing controlled drugs and medications in fingerprint-access electronic medicine cabinets rather than locked cupboards has resulted in multiple improvements in patient safety, medicines cost savings and for staff by reducing time spent looking for keys to medicines cupboards and completing the controlled drugs registers. The cabinets also reduce the opportunity for errors in the medical administration process.

Spectrum
The HMP Decommissioning Project for Spectrum aimed to facilitate the transition of IT services at HMP Lancaster Farms, HMP Preston, and HMP Kirkham following the arrival of a new supplier PPG in April 2024.With PPG assuming operational responsibilities, all IT infrastructure previously managed by Spectrum required systematic decommissioning to ensure a smooth transfer and mitigate security and operational risks.
